Introduction to GREP for InDesign

WELCOME!

GREP is one of the most powerful features in Adobe InDesign, and yet very few users know how to take advantage of it. After taking this short introductory course, you will immediately be able to start using GREP to find patterns of text and modify it, or automatically format that text using GREP Styles. Join internationally renowned expert Erica Gamet as she takes you through eight introductory and practical lessons.

TIPS FOR NAVIGATING THIS COURSE:

• You can download all the lesson files at once from the Materials tab at the top of the page, or each individual lesson's files on each lesson page.
• Extra downloads—like a GREP cheat sheet and some example GREP expressions—are also available for download at the bottom of this page.
• The files include both InDesign (INDD) and IDML files; all fonts used are from fonts.adobe.com, but feel free to substitute as needed.
• You will need to get 80% on each lesson's quiz to obtain your certificate of completion; note that on some quizzes, missing even one question will put you below that score.
• To see how long each lesson's video is, hover over the end of the video playbar.
• Return to this page to access your certificate of completion at any time.
